Leg of Peashell Farm Lamb


Peashell Farm is a traditional family farm just outside Witney in Oxfordshire. My name is Chris Strainge and together with my wife, my father and sons, we have been farming here at 'Peashell' for over fifty years.

We offer a range of home produced pork and lamb. The livestock is reared here on our farm and the meat is fully matured and processed by a local butcher.

Peashell is located on the edge of the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The gentle hillsides and picturesque villages have been described as traditional English Countryside. Sheep have grazed the Cotswolds for centuries, making the area famous for its wool - the town of Witney not far from us is famous for the woollen 'Witney blanket'.

We are assured to both the British Meats and British Pork schemes, evidence that we strive to produce our lamb and pork to the highest standard. We also work hard to run our farm with the environment in mind, because it is important to us that we protect this unique landscape for the future. During our time at Peashell we have seen the bird and butterfly population really thrive especially in the field bordering the River Windrush.

Our lamb is best served simply with fresh local vegetables so you can really taste the difference! Our hams and sausages are produced in small batches by our butcher to ensure you get the best quality, which results in very tasty, tender meat.

We have a variety of lamb and pork cuts available including roasts, steaks, chops, diced meat, burgers and sausages to choose from. Mutton is also available - a wonderful full flavour meat which has been forgotten in recent years.
